Match Report - 26 Sep 2009, Royston Hockey Club Mens 4th XI beat Stevenage 4th XI
Royston 4ths started their league campagin with a solid performance against Stevenage 4ths. The first quater of the match was fairly evenly contested. Paul Bloomfield then put Royston ahead and Steve Welding added a second just before half time after poaching a goal bound strike from captin James Arnold.
Royston started the second half strongly with the third goal comming almost imediatley again from Paul Bloomfield. Stevenage then had a sustained amount of pressure with several short corners in a row but a couple of good saves by Dan Orme and solid defending denied stevenage of any score. Royston broke away directly after a short corner for Nigle Philips to put home the fourth Shortly followed by his second to round of a good all round diplay by Royston.
