Ladies Section

Welcome to our Ladies Section...
The Ladies play in the Five Counties League

The Royston Hockey Ladies Section was formed back in 1975, and has grown to having three full senior teams and a Juniors side. The senior teams all play in the 5 Counties Women's League. Games are played on Saturdays, and occasionally on Sundays when the 1st team are involved in the England Hockey knockout competition. The juniors have mixed training on Sunday mornings, with occasional games throughout the season.

The Ladies 1st Team had a fantastic season ending up clear champions in Division 1 and gaining promotion into the Premier Division for the 2010/11 season. They played very good strong hockey throughout the season and showed clear domination over all the other teams, winning 14 of their 18 games, 3 draws and only 1 loss (what are you like?). We also believe that Sophie was 'Top Goal Scorer' in the Ladies league, well done! This coming season sees them return to the Premier Div, so a hard season lies ahead. But if they continue to improve and develop as they have they should do very well.

The Ladies 2nd Team had a very hard fought season in Division 2, finishing a very respectible fourth in the table. With several players been pulled for call-up into the first team on many occasions, the team did well to keep their pattern and structure, and will be well placed in the coming season to push for top honours.

The Ladies 3rd Team remained in Division 6 (just!), despite a tough season again. They always played hard, and often the results did not reflect the true performance of the side. Many of the junior players are now in this side, and they showed great determination and commitment. Well done....
