New start times for RHC home games 2010/11 Season
This year the start times for the home games will be as follows:
Bassingbourn games - 10h45, 12h15, 14h00 and 15h30
Meridian games - 14h30 

Training Dates for the 2010/11 Season
The training programme for the coming season will be as follows:
Pre-season fitness training: At the Heath Sports Centre - 19h00 to 20h30 - Dates: September 2nd and 9th.
Mens 1st, 2nd and Ladies 1st XIs Hockey Training: Bassingbourn Barracks astro - 19h30 to 21h30 - Dates: Tuesdays from 31st Aug
Men's 3rd, 4th, 5th and Ladies 2nd, 3rd XIs Hockey Training: Bassingbourn Barracks astro - 19h30 to 21h30 - Dates: Wednesdays from 1st Sept
Junior hockey training: The Meridian School astro - 11h00 to 12h30 - Dates: Every Sunday morning starting date 5th Sept
Goalkeeper training: Bassingbourn Barracks astro - 19h30 to 21h30 - Dates: Every second Monday of the month from 13th Sept
Match Dates: 5th Sept 2010 (friendlies) or 25th Sept 2010 (league) to 30th April 2011

Royston Hockey Club is one of the elite hockey clubs in Hertfordshire, boasting 5 Men's sides and 3 Ladies teams. We also run a very successful Youth hockey section on Sunday mornings.

The club has been going for over fifty years, and we have seen many club players over the years reach both County and National level. 2009/10 Season News! 
The Men's 1st team had a very tough season in Div 2S, and despite playing some very good hockey ended up in the bottom four in the table and have been relegated back down to Div 3SW for next season. The 2nd XI's had a really strong season ending up third in Div 5SW, a really good result considering they were only promoted their last season. Both the 3rd and 4th XI's ended up fourth from bottom in their respective leagues but look to be safe just above the relegation zone. Both sides played some really good hockey on occasion but suffered a bit with injuries and poor availability. The Men's 5th team, the youth development side, had a really great season and finished strongly in the second half of the season. The youngsters are really starting to make their mark on the team and they are getting stronger as a unit each time they play. It's no wonder Steve Gourd was top goal scorer in the club with these great youngsters feeding him ball in the circle!

As mentioned above the Ladies 1st team totally dominated their league and deservedly gained their promotion back into the Premier Division. They won 15 of their 18 games, scoring 71 goals whilst only conceding 15, a really fantastic result. The 2nd team also had a good season ending up a very respectable 4th in Division 2, very well done. The Ladies 3rds saw many new youngsters come into the team this season, and despite ending up second from bottom in their league played some really good hockey. Like the Men's 5th team, the young girls are really starting to develop well, and it won't be long before some of them are knocking on the door for a spot in the higher teams.

With the season now a distant memory, we need to enjoy the break, don't forget to get involved in some of the summer mixed league games if you can to keep your eye in, and start getting prepared for some hard work and great hockey in the coming season.
